If you are travelling by taxi, bus or train, you can by prior arrangement, use our meeting and greeting service.

You need to first call the office in the shopping centre you are visiting to arrange a time for your preferred piece of equipment to be brought to you at your chosen meeting point (in the car park, at the bus stations, at the train station or at the taxi ranks).

We encourage our members to pre book their preferred piece of equipment at either of the centres to avoid disappointment.  We have only a small number of scooters and demand for them is high especially in Ormskirk on market days (Thursday & Saturdays). In view of this fact, usage times may be limited to 3 hours per visit.

 

If you arrive by bus:

At best, it takes approximately 10 minutes to walk from Ormskirk bus station to Shopmobility.

Skelmersdale bus station is on the top floor of the shopping centre and is approximately a 2-3 minute walk to the Scootermart shop where Shopmobility is based.

It is essential that you pre-book the following service to ensure your preferred piece of equipment is available for you to use.

Given the availability of staff and equipment we will bring a scooter or wheelchair to either of the bus stations for when you arrive and collect the equipment in time for you to catch your return bus.

If you prefer, in Ormskirk you can get a taxi from the taxi office opposite the bus station that will bring you to directly to Shopmobility.

 

If you arrive by train: (Ormskirk only).

At best it takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from the train station to Shopmobility.

It is essential that you pre-book the following service.

Given the availability of staff and equipment available, we will bring a scooter or wheelchair to the train station for when you arrive and collect it in time for you to catch your return train or if you prefer, you can get a taxi from directly outside the station to bring you Shopmobility.

 

If you arrive by taxi:

The taxi driver will drop you directly outside Shopmobility at Ormskirk or at a location most convenient to you at the Concourse shopping centre. – Shopmobility will ring a taxi for you for your return journey.

If you arrive by car:

If you arrive by car at Ormskirk and have a blue badge you can park directly in front of Shopmobility depending on blue badge spaces being available. There are other blue badge spaces available in the car park by Argos. If there are no blue badge spaces available you can park in any car parking space.  If you have a mobile phone with you, you can give us a quick call and we will bring the equipment over to where you are parked. Alternatively, if you have someone with you, they can come over to the centre and ask a volunteer or member of staff to take the equipment over to where you are parked. We will accompany you back to your vehicle on your return.

At Skelmersdale there are blue badge spaces available on the ground floor of both the outdoor and multi storey car park. There are also blue badge spaces on the top floor of the multi storey car park. If you have a mobile phone with you, you can give us a quick call and we will bring the equipment to where you are parked. Alternatively, if you have someone with you, they can come to the centre and ask us to take the equipment over to where you are parked. We will accompany you back to your vehicle on your return.

 

Dial A Ride: (West Lancashire residents only).

A Dial A Ride service operates in West Lancashire and there are dropping off points conveniently situated outside Shopmobility at Ormskirk and also at various points on the ground floor of the Concourse, Skelmersdale.
