About Us

West Lancashire Shopmobility exists to enhance the lives of people that have mobility problems by providing various items of mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, scooters, & walking aids to almost anyone who lives in or visits West Lancashire whose mobility is impaired by illness, injury, or frailty, enabling them to access the shops, medical & public facilities of Ormskirk & Skelmersdale town centres.  We also hire out our equipment (apart from scooters) for use on UK and foreign holidays.

West Lancashire Shopmobility has two offices and they are in the market town of Ormskirk and also at the Concourse Shopping Centre, Skelmersdale. A wide variety of shops and supermarkets are situated in or near the town centres.

In Ormskirk there is a small indoor market on Moorgate that is open everyday except Sunday. Ormskirk today has all the usual shops you would expect in a town of this size. It has branches of Boots, Dixons, Superdrug, WH Smith, Bon Marche, Holland and Barrett, Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Argos.

It has four supermarkets- Tesco Metro, Morrison’s, Aldi and Marks and Spencer (Food Only). It also has an excellent selection of places to eat and drink.

The Concourse Shopping centre houses a small indoor market, a selection of places to eat and drink and has a variety of supermarkets, such as Aldi, Farm Foods and Iceland.  There are a variety of fashion and shoe stores such as Bon Marche and Peacocks. It also has branches of Superdrug, Home and Bargain, Wilkinson’s and Boots. Asda is a short walk or drive from the Concourse.
